- Officially handed over by our General Manager Nicolas Ruffier des Aimes to SBM Bank Kenya’s CEO Bhartesh Shah, marking a shared commitment to driving sustainable progress.
- A first for these models in Kenya and a clear sign that the shift to sustainable mobility is picking up real speed.
BYD by CFAO Mobility Kenya has handed over a fleet of five plug-in hybrid electric vehicles to Avenue, which will lease the vehicles to SBM Bank Kenya, in what the company is describing as the first significant corporate fleet deployment of these specific models in the Kenyan market.
The fleet comprises one BYD Shark 6, a dual-mode off-road plug-in hybrid pickup, and four BYD Sealion 6 DM-i plug-in hybrid SUVs. The handover ceremony took place in Nairobi
SBM Bank Kenya CEO Bhartesh Shah said the deployment is tied to the bank’s internal emissions reduction commitments, framing the switch to plug-in hybrids as a logistics modernisation move rather than a standalone sustainability exercise
BYD by CFAO Mobility Kenya GM Nicolas Ruffier des Aimes described the delivery as a marker of growing institutional appetite for hybrid fleet options, noting that the Shark 6 and Sealion 6 are new to the Kenyan market at corporate scale.
