- Shelter Afrique Development Bank unveils new brand identity as it marks 45th Anniversary;
Shelter Afrique Development Bank (ShafDB) has unveiled it’s new brand as the bank transitions to become a fully-fledged Multilateral Development Bank.
The new brand was revealed in Rabat, Morocco as the bank held it’s 45th Annual Meetings.“Rebranding means more than a name change.
It is not only changing the institutions framework of operations.The transition is expanding the role of the institution into a development bank making the institution more nimble and impactful across the housing value chain while creating jobs,” said Thierno-Habib Hann, Managing Director & CEO ShafDB
The Bank has been on a strategic mission to expand it’s financing portfolio to meet the growing demands in Africa’s housing sector.
With a current membership of 44 African states and institutional shareholders such as the African Development Bank (AfDB) and African Reinsurance Corporation, the bank has been responsive to the growing needs in Africa’s housing sector.
“Our success will not ultimately be measured by strategies adopted, policies approved or meetings held. It will be measured by homes financed,cities improved, jobs created and lives transformed.
The reform phase of the institution must now become the delivery phase,” noted H.E. Mr. Lionel Zinsou, Chairman, Shelter Afrique Development Bank.
The new transition to become a Multi-lateral Development Bank sets up ShafDB to be in the league of other pan-African multilateral lenders.
The bank is eyeing bigger projects to bridge the 53 million housing deficit in Africa which needs about $1.3 trillion in financing.
“Our vision for the next five years and beyond is to lead the transformation of African housing sector in the continent to address urban infrastructure and create jobs,” noted the bank’s MD.
The rebranding comes at a time African Multi-lateral Development Bank’s forge strong alliances to mobilize capital in a bid to lead to significant developmental impact.
The logo shines a spotlight on the bank with this year’s AGM timely theme:“The Future of Cities: Financing Inclusive, Green, and Resilient Urban Development.”
