Visa, a global leader in digital payments, and Oromia Bank S.C.has announced a new collaboration to expand access to Visa-branded prepaid solutions for the bank’s customers across Ethiopia.
As part of the collaboration, Oromia Bank plans to launch a portfolio of Visa Prepaid Classic, Visa Prepaid Gold, and Visa Prepaid Platinum products in Ethiopia, giving customers convenient options for everyday spending, e-commerce, and travel-related payments where Visa is accepted.
This initiative is designed to accelerate the adoption of secure digital payments, broaden financial access, and enhance customer choice through prepaid credentials that can be used in-store, online, and abroad on the Visa network.
Strengthening digital payments with enhanced risk and authentication capabilities
As part of the collaboration, Oromia Bank and Visa will work together to strengthen payment security and risk controls by implementing Visa risk and authentication capabilities, including Visa Advanced Authorization (VAA), Visa Risk Manager (VRM), and Visa Consumer Authentication Service (VCAS) for applicable transactions.
