- Spiro Powers Up Nairobi with New Westlands Mega Station,Expanding Battery-Swapping Capacity to 200 Bikes;

The new Mega Station has been upgraded from a capacity of approximately 40–50 bikes at a time to up to 200 bikes, alowing significantly more riders to swap batteries without long queues or unnecessary downtime.
Spiro’s battery-swapping model alows riders to exchange depleted batteries within minutes, helping reduce downtime and providing predictable access to energy throughout the day.
Building Infrastructure Around the Rider As the number of electric motorcycles on Kenyan roads continues to grow, access to convenient energy infrastructure wi l be critical to making electric mobility practical at scale.
The Westlands Mega Station is designed to address this need by creating greater capacity at one of Nairobi’s key commercial and mobility hubs.
Rather than riders having to wait for individual batteries to become available, the expanded station is built to accommodate significantly higher volumes and keep riders moving.
Spiro plans to continue expanding its network of battery-swapping stations across Nairobi and other parts of Kenya, bringing energy closer to riders and creating a more connected and efficient electric mobility network.

The company’s wider expansion strategy is aligned with Kenya’s transition towards cleaner transportation.Kenya’s National Electric Mobility Policy identifies electric two-wheelers as a leading segment in the country’s early transition to electric mobility,while Spiro has committed to working with transport and energy stakeholders to expand charging and swapping infrastructure.

The Davido Connection The Westlands Mega Station launch also comes as Spiro continues to expand its product offering and build greater awareness around electric mobility across Africa.
Spiro previously unveiled a new generation of electric vehicles developed in colaboration with global music star and entrepreneur Davido,including the Davido Collectible and Alpha+ by Davido.
The new Davido bike is expected to be available for retail in the Kenyan market soon,adding a lifestyle and culture dimension to Spiro’s growing electric mobility offering.
For Kenya, the ambition is clear:build an electric mobility network that works for the rider.
The Westlands Mega Station is one step in that journey —with more stations planned across Nairobi and beyond.
