- Mercedes-Benz Marks 10 Years of Innovation in Kenya ‘140 Years Places’ Expedition and New S-Class Launch;
Kenya joins a global celebration of Mercedes-Benz heritage and innovation as CFAO Mobility Kenya unveils the latest S-Class to distinguished customers.

Mercedes-Benz has marked 140 years of automotive innovation and engineering excellence in Kenya,with CFAO Mobility Kenya hosting an exclusive celebration and launch of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class at the Muthaiga Golf & Country Club.
The event brought together His Excellency Ambassador Sebastian Groth,Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kenya,distinguished Mercedes-Benz customers,business leaders, partners and automotive enthusiasts to celebrate a milestone that traces its origins to 1886,when Carl Benz patented the Motorwagen and fundamentally transformed mobility.The celebration formed part of Mercedes-Benz’s global “140 Years. 140 Places” campaign, which is taking the brand’s 140-year legacy across six continents.
Three Mercedes-Benz S-Class saloons are travelling more than 60,000 kilometers, visiting 140 symbolic locations representing the brand’s heritage, innovation and global presence.
This is the most ambitious brand journey in Mercedes-Benz history, tracing iconic routes and destinations that have shaped the brand’s 140-year legacy.
The expedition has visited more than 70 destinations across the globe which include across Europe,with stops in Stuttgart,Brussels,and Paris;through the Americas, including Buenos Aires,the Andes,New York,and Miami;and across China, visiting Beijing,Jinan, Lianyungang,Suzhou and Shanghai.

It has also crossed Asia and Southeast Asia, with visits to Seoul,Vietnam,Thailand, Singapore,Malaysia,Japan,and Bhutan, as well as India, covering New Delhi, Amritsar,Mumbai among others.
Kenya is one of the featured destinations on this historic global expedition, highlighting the country’s growing significance within the Mercedes-Benz story and its position as an important center of commerce, innovation and entrepreneurship in East Africa.
Speaking at the event,Arvinder Reel,Managing Director,CFAO Mobility Kenya,said the milestone represented more than the celebration of a historic anniversary.
“Tonight is not simply about celebrating a number, it is about celebrating legacy.A legacy that began in 1886,when Carl Benz patented the Motorwagen and fundamentally changed the way the world moves.”

He added that Mercedes-Benz’s 140-year journey demonstrated the importance of continually challenging what is possible in mobility.
The inclusion of Kenya in the “140 Years. 140 Places” expedition represents an important recognition of the country’s relationship with the Mercedes-Benz brand and its position within the wider African mobility landscape.

The expedition, which began in Stuttgart,Germany, is visiting locations across the globe that reflect the heritage, pioneering spirit and international presence of Mercedes-Benz before returning to Stuttgart in October 2026.
For CFAO Mobility Kenya, hosting the celebration reinforces its commitment to bringing the latest Mercedes-Benz innovations and premium mobility experiences to Kenyan customers.
The occasion also highlighted the long-standing relationship between Mercedes-Benz and CFAO Mobility Kenya, through its predecessor DT Dobie,which has represented Mercedes-Benz in Kenya since 1949.
Following the integration of CFAO Motors (formerly Toyota Kenya) and DT Dobie in 2023, the businesses now operate under CFAO Mobility Kenya Limited.

New Mercedes-Benz S-Class unveiled.
The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class,reinforcing the model’s position as a benchmark for luxury,technology and automotive innovation.
The S-Class brings together advanced technology,craftsmanship,comfort and intelligence,reflecting Mercedes-Benz’s philosophy that luxury is not simply about the number of features in a vehicle,but about creating an effortless and deeply personalized experience for its occupants.

The new model represents the latest chapter in a lineage that has traditionally served as Mercedes-Benz’s flagship platform for introducing innovations that subsequently influence the wider automotive industry.
