KCB Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uasin Gishu County Government under the 2Jiajiri programme, aimed at expanding access to vocational training for young people through a matching-funds model that accelerates youth empowerment.
Speaking during the signing, KCB Foundation Director Mendi Njonjo emphasized the shared commitment to sustainable livelihoods.
“Through the 2Jiajiri programme, we are intentionally investing in skills that translate into real economic opportunity.
This matching-funds approach allows us to scale our impact and ensure more young people in Uasin Gishu are equipped for employment, entrepreneurship and long-term participation in the economy,” she noted.
Under the agreement, KCB Foundation will commit KShs. 25 million, matched shilling-for-shilling by the County Government to create a KShs. 50 million skills development fund.
The investment will support vocational and technical training, equipping youth with practical, market-ready skills to strengthen employability and enterprise development across the county.
