- Amref International University Graduates 604 Health Professionals to Advance Africa’s Health Transformation,
Amref International University (AMIU) celebrated its 7th Graduation Ceremony, awarding qualifications to 604 graduates across certificate, diploma, higher diploma, bachelor’s and master’s programmes under the theme, “Raising Leaders for Africa’s Health Transformation.”
The ceremony marked another significant milestone in the University’s mission to develop competent health professionals and leaders equipped to strengthen health systems across Africa.
Since 2021, AMIU has graduated 1,343 health professionals, reaffirming its growing contribution to building Africa’s health workforce. Presiding over the ceremony, AMIU Chancellor, Mrs Tsitsi Masiyiwa, challenged graduates to pursue lives of purpose and service.
“Let your ambition always be greater than personal success.Measure your life not only by what you achieve, but by what you enable others to achieve.
Measure your influence not only by the positions you hold, but by the opportunities you create for those who follow.”
Delivering the keynote address,Dr Joyce Kaducu,Former Minister of Education and Sports,Republic of Uganda, highlighted the importance of investing in health professionals as a catalyst for national development.
“Investing in the health workforce is investing in the future of a nation.
Every well-trained health professional strengthens communities, drives innovation, and improves health outcomes for generations to come.

Vice Chancellor Professor Joachim Osur reaffirmed the University’s commitment to developing leaders who will transform healthcare across the continent.
“At Amref International University,we are not simply preparing graduates for employment.
We are developing leaders who will strengthen health systems, advance research, champion innovation and improve the health and wellbeing of communities across Africa.”

The graduating class also reflects AMIU’s continued commitment to empowering women in healthcare,with women accounting for the majority of graduates.
Speaking during the ceremony,University leadership encouraged graduates to embrace lifelong learning, lead with integrity and use their knowledge to improve lives and strengthen communities.
As a Chartered University and a member of the Amref Health Africa family,AMIU continues to expand its role as a Pan-African institution advancing health sciences education,research and leadership development to meet Africa’s evolving healthcare needs.
