- KenGen Green Energy Park Attracts Fifth Investor,Reinforcing Demand for Green Industrialization Solutions
Kenya Electricity Generating Company, (KenGen), has onboarded Maxim Agri & Samakgro as the fifth investor in the KenGen Green Energy Park.
The project, valued at approximately USD 3.95 million, is anticipated to upsurge fish feed production capacity in Kenya to meet the growing aquaculture industry demand.
Speaking during the onboarding ceremony, KenGen Managing Director and CEO, Eng. Peter Njenga noted that Maxim Agri & Samakgro is the second investor to be onboarded in 2026, bringing the total to five,signifying the growing appeal of the KenGen Green Energy Park as a hub for industries seeking to harness affordable and sustainable green energy to support their expansion.

For his part,Maxim Agri Director,Joachim Westerveld,expressed optimism about the partnership and the opportunities it presents for the company’s growth.
“The establishment of an 8MT per hour fish feed production plant at the KenGen Green Energy Park will significantly enhance our production capacity while reducing operational costs through access to efficient power and steam solutions.

These efficiencies will enable us to provide more affordable feed to farmers,” he said.
“By making high-quality feed more affordable and accessible, the transition from traditional feed to modern aquaculture nutrition will drive fish farming efficiency, boost productivity, and improve livelihoods of fish farmers” he added.

Onboarding of the fifth investor came as KenGen officially unveiled a new Green Energy Park Investor Portal which will serve as a one-stop shop platform designed to accelerate investments in the geothermal hub.
Commenting on the newly unveiled platform, Eng.Njenga noted that the portal marks a significant milestone in KenGen’s efforts to position Kenya as Africa’s preferred destination for sustainable industrial development by providing prospective investors with seamless access to information and investment opportunities at the click of a button.
“The Portal is more than an interface that allows global and local investors to explore opportunities virtually.It is a gateway to Africa’s green industrial future.
Through this, we have digitized the investor journey by making it easy for them to access information on possible investment opportunities” he said.
The launch of the portal comes as momentum continues to build at the Green Energy Park.
KenGen has already onboarded four other investors including –Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA), Eco-cloud,Kaishan Group,Aquilastar Corporate Investment Company and Synergetic Development Group.
