The Government of Kenya (GoK) has granted the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings and Credit Associations (ACCOSCA) Diplomatic Status under the Privileges and Immunities Act (Cap. 179).
This landmark recognition was announced by H.E.Dr.Hon.Musalia Mudavadi,Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, in the presence of ACCOSCA leadership led by our Executive Director George Yashon Ombado and ACCOSCA Board Vice Chairperson,David Mategwa
Cabinet Secretary emphasized that this new status elevates ACCOSCA’s global standing as a leader in advocating for financial inclusion and cooperative development across Africa.
The Host Country Status Agreement is now set to be signed in Nairobi,following Kenyan Cabinet approval on June 30, 2026, and is championed by Kenya’s Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs Development-Kenya.
This recognition enhances ACCOSCA’s ability to collaborate with national governments and stakeholders, reinforcing its commitment to advancing financial inclusion and sustainable development across the continent.
