- The Hub Karen Mall to Host 24-hour Fitness Challenge in Support of Persons with Disabilities;
The Hub Karen Mall will transform into the ultimate fitness arena as it hosts a 24-hour nonstop fitness challenge from 11.00am Saturday, 20 September to 11.00am Sunday, 21 September 2025.
The challenge will be led by Jonathan Leonard, Kenyan-born former British Army soldier and founder of the Mazoezi for Mobility Challenge, who will attempt an incredible 24 hours of continuous burpees to raise funds and awareness for Kenyans with disabilities.
Nearly 1 in 10 Kenyans lives with a disability, facing barriers to mobility, opportunity, and dignity every day. Jonathan, now a Crisis and Security Consultant in East Africa, was inspired by their resilience when he returned home after over a decade of military service abroad.

“At The Hub Karen, community means showing up for one another—and this event is all about standing with persons with disabilities.
We welcome families, fitness enthusiasts, and shoppers to join the challenge or cheer from the sidelines, while enjoying great food, live music, and a vibrant atmosphere all weekend,” said Jacobus Visser, General Manager of The Hub Karen.
Participants can register for the challenge by signing up on here or donate directly via M-Changa fundraiser. The event will feature a Live DJ, food and drinks, and special discounts from select stores located at The Hub Karen Mall.
All proceeds will support Riziki Source and the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK), organizations that provide mobility aids, promote inclusion, and create dignified work opportunities for people with disabilities.
The challenge is proudly supported by, Furniture Palace, SmartGyms, Adidas, Healthy U, Decathlon, and USN all located within The Hub Karen mall.
