Samsung Electronics has won one of the mobile industry’s most prestigious awards after its flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, was named “Best in Show” at the Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO Awards) during the Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona.
The awards, organized annually by the GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association), recognize outstanding innovations across the global mobile industry.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra was selected from thousands of products showcased at the event, with the judging panel praising its combination of advanced hardware and intelligent software powered by One UI 8.5.
The device integrates Samsung’s Galaxy AI, which delivers adaptive, context-aware intelligence designed to simplify everyday tasks while protecting user security and privacy.
Industry judges highlighted the smartphone’s innovations, including the world’s first built-in Privacy Display, a feature designed to enhance on-screen privacy while maintaining a vibrant viewing experience.
The phone also runs on a customized chipset that accelerates AI processing, enabling faster and more responsive mobile experiences.
According to Shaun Collins, Chair of the Judges for the MWC Best in Show 2026 awards, the competition was particularly strong this year.
However, he said the Galaxy S26 Ultra stood out for its ability to push the boundaries of mobile technology while addressing real user needs.
“We look for technology that is not only innovative but that genuinely moves the industry forward. Its privacy innovation addresses one of the most important needs of today’s digital lifestyle — security, personal space and trust,” Collins said.
Judges also noted that while many technologies presented at the event represent future possibilities, the Galaxy S26 Ultra delivers forward-looking innovation that consumers can use today.
For Samsung, the recognition underscores its strategy to lead the next phase of smartphone innovation through artificial intelligence.
“We are honoured that the Galaxy S26 Ultra has been recognized as ‘Best in Show’ at this year’s GLOMO Awards,” said Stephanie Choi, Executive Vice President and Head of the Mobile Marketing Center at Samsung’s Mobile eXperience business.
She described the device as an “agentic AI phone” that reflects the company’s continued commitment to advancing the mobile industry.
With more than 3,000 exhibitors at Mobile World Congress 2026, the award highlights Samsung’s competitive edge in the rapidly evolving smartphone market, where AI-driven features, privacy technologies, and performance improvements are becoming key differentiators.
