- 30,000 Kenyans across the country benefit from Bamburi Cement Plc’s expanded food drive during this Ramadhan season.
Bamburi Cement Plc has significantly expanded its annual Ramadhan Food Drive, scaling the initiative to support approximately 4,000 vulnerable families across Mombasa, Kilifi, Kwale, Machakos and Nairobi counties reaching at least 30,000 beneficiaries.

The food drive in its second year of execution has grown into a large-scale community lifeline during the Holy Month.
Speaking during the drive, Amsons Group Country Representative, Tawakal Rajab Sumba commented, “This initiative is rooted in compassion and inclusivity.
By increasing our reach to 30,000 individuals and expanding into areas such as Matuga, we are deepening our partnership with communities and reinforcing our long-term commitment to social impact.”For thousands of Muslim faithful fasting from dawn to dusk, the daily Iftar meal is both a spiritual and communal moment.

Yet for many low-income households, the question of how to put food on the table has become increasingly urgent.By targeting 4,000 families, translating to nearly 30,000 individuals, the 2026 drive seeks to ensure that more families can break their fast with dignity rather than uncertainty.
This year’s programme has also increased its footprint by extending food support to Kenya Prisons facilities, orphanages and children’s homes, institutions where food insecurity quietly cripples them down.

The initiative, which was officially launched at Afra Hall in Mombasa Town, signaled the start of coordinated food distributions throughout the fasting period.
Deliveries include essential food supplies aimed at sustaining households throughout the holy month.
Launched in 2025 following the company’s acquisition by the Amsons Group, the Ramadhan Food Drive has evolved into a flagship corporate social responsibility programme.

Beyond numbers, it represents a deliberate shift toward structured, sustained community support in regions where Bamburi Cement operates.
