
- Bamburi Cement opens a newly Sh 100Mn concrete plant in Mombasa
Bamburi Special Products, which is the group entity of Bamburi Cement, has launched a Sh100 million ready-mix concrete plant in Mombasa County as part of its drive to capture the regional growing demand for large construction and infrastructural works.
The newly opened facility in the Bamburi industrial complex has the production capacity of 120 cubic meters of concrete per hour, and can produce over 10,000 cubic meters of Ready-mix concrete.
It is supported by a modern fleet of transit mixers, both mobile and fixed concrete pumping systems, and a mobile concrete laboratory all geared towards enhancing efficiency and reliability for construction projects across the coastal region.
The company said that the investment aligns with Bamburi’s broader growth strategy of expanding into high-potential markets.
“The new Mombasa RMX plant will significantly boost the construction capacity of the region by providing reliable, high-quality concrete solutions tailored to suit the demands of various projects, from residential and commercial projects to mega-scale infrastructure projects,” read part of the statement.
It also proves the commitment of the company in offering innovative construction solutions while furthering Kenya’s economic development and infrastructure growth.
In March,Amsons Group, a Pan-African energy and manufacturing conglomerate, has begun the process of integrating Bamburi Cement, a local cement products manufacturer, into its operations.
