
Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) proudly held the graduation ceremony for the 3rd Cohort of the Basic Airport Firefighter Course at the KAA Headquarters Grounds.
The event was officiated by KAA Board Chairman, Hon. Caleb Kositany, who shared inspiring remarks celebrating the achievements of the 25 graduates.
Hon. Kositany commended the graduates for successfully completing a rigorous three-month training program designed in line with ICAO’s competency standards
Covering essential skills such as fire suppression techniques and emergency rescue operations,the course equips these firefighters to effectively respond to complex aviation emergencies and safeguard lives and property.
“This course ensures our firefighters are not just responders but highly trained professionals ready to act with confidence and precision,” said Hon. Kositany.
He further emphasized that safety in aviation is a commitment, one that these graduates now carry forward as vital guardians of Kenya’s airports.
Addressing the graduates,Hon. Kositany noted:
“Your journey does not end here.The upcoming three-month industrial attachment will further hone your skills, preparing you for full certification.
Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, courage, and teamwork as you serve.”
The ceremony was also graced by KAA Acting Managing Director, Dr. Mohamud Gedi, a section of senior management, distinguished guests, instructors, and staff who have supported the training journey.
