- Gumbo Basic Hawks Crowned Champions Of Second Stanbic Jr. Nba League In Juba;
The second season of the Stanbic Jr. NBA Finals, held in collaboration with Stanbic and the Luol Deng Foundation, took place on Saturday, March 7, at Nimra Talata Stadium in Juba, South Sudan.
From the Eastern Conference Gumbo Basic Hawks and from the Western Conference and Liberty Clippers faced off in an exciting final.
Gumbo Basic Hawks out scored Liberty Clippers, winning the second season of the Stanbic Jr. NBA League.
Leading up to the finals, the Western Conference and Eastern Conference semi-finals and finals took place from February 25 to March 5.

- In the East, Gumbo Basic Hawks clinched the series 2-0 and were crowned the Eastern Conference champions.
- In the West, Liberty Clippers were crowned Western Conference champions, finishing the series 2-1.
The eventual league champions, Gumbo Basic Hawks, were officially crowned winners of the season.
This year’s finals marked the culmination of a 127-game season featuring 27 teams from across the region, with more than 450 girls and boys participating in the program.
The Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA is the league’s global youth basketball program for boys and girls that teaches the fundamental skills and core values of the game –teamwork, respect, determination and community –at the grassroots level in an effort to help grow and improve the youth basketball experience for players, coaches and parents.
The Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA program has been launched in 19 African countries, reaching more than 390,000 youth from across the continent last year.
